I was planning on joining the School Reunion until something came up1 at work2 that would require my traveling to Gansu during that timeframe3. It is a shame4. However, my husband is still available for the event and I know he just can't wait5.  Sorry I can't make it6 this year. Say hi to everybody for me.
我原本打算去参加校友联欢会的，可是没料到工作上出现一些问题，需要我在那段时间里去甘肃处理。真的很可惜。但是，我丈夫仍然能去，我知道他是急着要参加校友联欢。对不起，我今年真的不能参加了。代我向所有人问好。

Shelly Dong回复Rong Xingmin的Email，一来道贺新年，二来说明不能参加校友会的原因并表示遗憾。

1.   come up：出现了某种意料之外的事情

2.   work：即可指工作，亦可指工作单位

3.   timeframe (n)：时间范围、时间框架、某段时间

4.   It is a shame: 真可惜It is a pity

5.   can't wait：迫不及待、等不及了 can't wait to attend the reunion

6.   make it：做成某事，此处指出席联欢会。
