这封Email没有打招呼性质的 "Dear"或 "Hi"，可见写信人和收信人关系很随和，不必有任何客套。

1.   pick sb.'s brain: 向某人请教。 Brain 有聪明才学的意思，去挖人家的brain就是有问题请教的意思。

A conference call is no different from a telephone call except that there are more than two parties1 involved in the call. Many companies have conference call capability to allow meetings to be conducted via telephone by participants scattered all over the places.
电话会议和普通电话的唯一差别在于：普通电话在两方之间进行而电话会议由多方参与，至少多于两方。许多公司都有电话会议能力，通过电话召集分散在各处的员工参加会议。

Amy, sorry to bother you with another question, a question of different nature. When I was reading the sports news on USA Today, I came across a line in which somebody was described as having achieved "an unrivaled1 1,300-183 record."  Does that mean this person won 1,300 games and lost 183?
艾米，对不起，再次请教你一个和上次性质完全不同的问题。《今日美国》的体育新闻有这么一句话，形容某某人取得了"举世无双的1300-183记录"。这是不是说这个人嬴了1300次比赛，失利183次？

注：这封Email其实完全可以用打电话的形式使问题得到解答。但是许多人偏爱电子媒介，况且Email比打长途电话便宜。

These numbers refer to the win-loss record1 of coaches or sports teams. Winning 1300 and only losing 183 is an amazingly good record.
这些数字是指教练或运动队的输嬴记录。嬴1300次，只输掉183次是个非常好的记录。
